I wonder

Over the hills and far away,
The faerie in moonlit circles play,
Their gossamer wings awash with light
Flitter and flutter all through the night.

Under the sea, below the waves,
The mermaid dance in jeweled caves,
And through enchanted grottoes glide
Swimming with the changing tide.

Over the mountain in tunnels deep,
The dragons lurk and horde and sleep,
With leather wings they hide their gold
Stolen from dwarves in days of old.

And here I sit with book in hand,
Dreaming of enchanted lands,
Where creatures of wonder are said to be.
I wonder if they dream of me?
